In today’s busy stressful lives , we are all about giving. We are constantly in the process of giving our time, affection, and attention to others whether it’s for work, family members, friends, or just our daily tasks. Don’t get me wrong, giving is a good thing but sometimes in this quest of giving, we often forget ourselves.
In order to give your best to others, you first have to give your best to yourself.
To have peace and happiness in your life it’s important to start with self-care, a tool that can help you handle life’s ups and downs and make you a stronger person overall. Listen to your body, respect yourself, and do something everyday to energize and rejuvenate. It doesn’t have to be something big or elaborate, but just make time for yourself and unwind daily.
Here are few ways you can incorporate Self care:
- Pamper your self (Get a massage/ facial/ manicure or pedicure/ haircut/ hot bath)
- Read a book or Try out a new hobby/ skill
- Indulge in all-natural cosmetics in order to reduce toxins
- Go on a outing (even if it’s to your mom’s house)
- Meditate/pray and practice deep breathing (try this)
- Eat at an organic restaurant
- Hang out with your friend
- Get enough sleep
- Spend time outdoors- appreciating the nature and get some vitamin D
- Practice mindfulness in everything you do
- Smile more often
- Keep a journal and express gratitude daily
- Do your happy dance
- Hug your loved ones
- Don’t hang on to the painful past and try to forgive
Some of these tips might seem so minuscule, but they can really make a difference. In addition to helping you feel relaxed and vibrant, adopting daily self care can increase your confidence and instill self growth.
